It is tradition that we sailors get together on a convenient day near the 1st of February to offer a toast and a bit of liquid to begin the filling of Fernridge. Bring your favorite libation and a small offering of water to add to the filling of the lake.

It is customary to meet on the guest dock at Richardson around noon of the designated day (this year it will be February 6, 2021) and begin by hob-knobbing a bit (socially distanced and wearing a face covering this year of course) prior to offering our donation to appease the rain gods, followed by a toast to the season ahead. By doing so, we help to assure a successful sailing season on Fern-ditch.

Please join in if you are so inclined, but be sure to wear your face covering and keep yourself safe by observing a reasonable distance between non household members. There is usually a portapotti set up near the entrance, but facilities are very limited this time of year.
